Almaas is a one-of-a-kind wordsmith who can conjure up different worlds with just her words. She radiates positivity, infecting everyone wherever she goes.
As a poet and a writer, she swears by the power of words. She maintains that all writing makes a statement and all writing is powerful. The strongest influences on her writing have been the circumstances that she has lived through. Poetry, she says, has been cathartic for her, it has always reflected what she has felt at different points in her life. Her poems have grown from featuring cartoon characters as a young poet to carrying opinions on societal bias as someone growing increasingly confused by the problematic portrayal of her religion in the media.
Almaas often looks to her father’s diary of Farsi poetry for inspiration and comfort. A huge bibliophile, books, in general, have always provided her comfort – she is in the habit of befriending the fictional characters!
When life was not all sunshine and rainbows, Almaas turned to reading and writing to find happiness. She never turned back. Today, she writes wonderful poetry that touches the heart and creates absolute magic with her words.
